X-Start UX Troubleshooting


This topic provides troubleshooting information for the user interface (UX), or customer screen, and will cover:

  • Unexpected kiosk reboots
  • Password/Login failure

X-Start Reboot Issues

Perform the following checks:

  1. Upon start up, review the startup process on the kiosk screen and verify all hardware is coming up online. If devices are offline, proceed to Devices Offline troubleshooting.
  2. Log into the server. Select "Setup" at the top of the page. Select "Devices" in the left frame. Select "Edit" next to the device in a fault state. Ensure th at the proper profile is being sent. Ensure that the "Device Profile" is set to X-Start.
  3. Save the profile. Select "Download All Devices".
  4. If fault is not found by this point, pull the log files and email DRB for further assistance.

Password Failure

If the password fails at the kiosk:

  1. Verify that the password in the server by logging in using the same credentials from the kiosk.
  2. Download profile by going to Setup>Devices then click Download next to the kiosk device name. You can also select Download All Devices to download the profiles on very kiosk on site.
  3. Try logging into the kiosk again after 30 minutes. bad tries. All other users will work if that is the case.
  4. If fault is not found by this point, pull the log files and email them to DRB for further assistance.

Out of Service Mode

If the X-Start goes into Out of Service mode, this most likely means the kiosk has lost communication with the server or a wash equipment fault has occurred. On the bottom right hand corner of the X-Start, it will give an error message to indicate what has caused a fault.

  1. The C- ile has the Fault Input signal enabled and detected that the wash equipment tripped a fault. If X-Start software is setup properly, fault is in the wash equipment.
  2. The C- the wash equipment tripped a fault. If X-Start software is setup properly, fault is in the wash equipment.
  3. No Profile Assigned Assign and/or download a profile to the kiosk.
  4. No Connection to Any Server The X-Start cannot find the server.
  5. If this is a secondary unit:
  6. Verify the secondary X-Start has a valid IP address.
  7. If it does, troubleshoot the server.
  8. If it does not, troubleshoot the network.
  9. If this is the server:
  10. Log into Maintenance Mode at the kiosk.
  11. Ensure server is enabled by going to Setup. The top right-hand button
  12. X-Start is in service upon boot up.
  13. Ensure a profile is assigned to the X-Start and download the profile.
  14. If the X-Start returns into service, kiosk works as intended.
  15. If fault is not found by this point, pull the log files and email them to DRB for further assistance.
